Thank you for this message. I completely agree with your insights. Christians do indeed have essentially the same message and mission as that of Christ. I truly believe that all Christians should be viewing everything from this higher perspective.

Having been raised in a rather negative environment, I feel like I gained some limited benefits from the positive focus of many "self-help" messages. Thankfully, as a Christian, I've "graduated" from that. I'm now learning to trust in God alone. Frankly, I'm rather repulsed by the self-centeredness and materialistic focus that abound in the self-help field. Sadly, this kind of worldly orientation is also present in churches in which the "prosperity gospel" is preached. I don't believe in throwing the "baby out with the bath water" though, because the Bible contains many promises about God's desire and ability to provide for us.

I normally don't promote my blog in comments, but I hope you won't mind me sharing my latest post because I feel that it's highly relevant to what you discussed here. I'll briefly describe my experience here.

I hadn't been praying that the Lord would provide a new vehicle for me. In fact, I've been very appreciative of the one I had. When a person has the same car for 28 years as I have, they can become attached to it. Even so, I have to admit that my Ford Ranger was very old and very stripped down.

The thing I had missed the most was being able to play music. Yes, my truck doesn't even have a radio. (The person who stole my last stereo from the truck had damaged the brackets, so a technician said he couldn't install a new one). I've been using my cell phone, but most of the time I can barely hear it.

Anyway, earlier this month, not long after my birthday the Lord opened the door for me to buy a beautiful, used minivan for practically nothing. I start out this post by presenting some biblical principles for "manifestation" or answered prayer, then share my testimony about how I was able to acquire this minivan. Here's the link: https://eyesoflight.substack.com/p/how-god-gifted-me-with-a-beautiful I hope you and your readers will be blessed by this testimony.

One of the most wonderful things about trusting in God to provide for our needs is that he is not in any way dependent on the state of the economy. :-)
