Never Alone Again

A Vet Shares His Journey With Jesus
6

Do you feel hopeless and alone?

There is no place where God isn’t.

Join

and I for our conversation about PTSD, Veterans, and God’s redemption of seemingly hopeless situations. He teaches the message of hope, that no one is broken beyond repair. Go to Jesus to get fixed—don’t try to fix yourself first. Shout out to the man who led him to Jesus, .

Robert is a biblical counselor, seminary student, husband, father, and retired Veteran. He shares his experiences and wisdom. Come be a witness to God’s mighty work in Robert’s life, from “broke, busted, and disgusted” to a humble and faithful child of the King.

If you belong to Jesus, you need to find ways to connect with the Body of Christ. Listen in for hopeful ways to connect, and start doing the 59 “one another” commandments in the Bible. Real honor and glory is available to us in God, His kingdom, and His Church. We can think of ourselves less, and think of others more by the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It’s ok to show people our “I’m not making it” face at church and find healing in community through the Word and worship.

Hear Robert’s discoveries about being a real man. “Real men reject passivity.” Men can provide and protect their families as they die to themselves and live in the power of the Holy Spirit. His ability to be a husband and father is now rooted in the gospel of Jesus, that we are sinners saved by grace through faith, and the transformation comes from Him. Jesus loved us first, most, always, intentionally, and sacrificially (Ephesians 5:25).

We discussed overcoming rejection. Robert’s story begins with the most devastating rejection any human can endure, the horrific abuse of his foster parents. Find out how to overcome our fear of man and our over-desire to be seen and appreciated by finding the approval we need in Christ. We read Psalm 139:1-10, and the beauty of being seen by God, the only Person whose verdict matters. We can put on Christ’s righteousness and worthiness, and repent of trying to fabricate our own worth and identity on our own. We have access to the presence of God now and for eternity. Repent of unbelief, and seek out accountability from solid Christians who can keep you on track!

Ever thought about biblical counseling? It’s “for” all Christians, bridging the gap between the pulpit and the people. Check out Paul Tripp’s book, Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands. Other websites like CCEF, ACBC, IABC, IBCD have resources, training, and certifications that you can pursue from home to learn biblical counseling in relationships. The Bible has all the answers you are looking for!

Check out Mighty Oaks and this amazing biblical ministry to Veterans, First Responders, and their spouses. Isaiah 61 sums up their mission and vision (and mine too!).
